Mental Health of Immigrants in a Shelter in Tabasco, Mexico During the COVID-19Epidemic

Migration is a global phenomenon that must be recognized as social de-terminant of health. In 2020, there were 280 million international migrants in the world. Undoubtedly, Mexico plays fundamental role transnational migration due to large flow who transit through its borders. Research on mental health and migra-tion suggests high prevalence disorders conditions process; this scenario may aggravated result contingency caused by CO-VID-19. Methodology: This research intended identify relationship between migrants, migratory process, COVID-19 epidemic. Therefore, it qualitative study with deductive approach. A sample evaluation Central Ameri-can living shelter Tabasco, December 2020 was used. Results: Some factors impact place origin during (forced migration, persecution, lack possibilities achieve decent standard living...). Moreover, positive, negative manifestations reported dimensions health, because process COVID-19. Conclusions: has become an option for survival well-being given limited opportunities exist regions origin. Efforts made develop policies benefit group.
